Take Flight marks a quiet return for S.O.N.A.T.I.O.N., almost a year after their last release.
Rooted in the earliest moments of the project, the track reflects a time before direction was clear, when everything was still open, fragile, and undefined. There is a sense of hesitation, but also inevitability — the moment just before leaving what is known.
Built around gentle synth movements and evolving textures, Take Flight unfolds slowly, holding space rather than filling it. It carries both weight and lightness, as if something is about to lift, but has not fully committed yet.
Invited to weave his sonic magic, label boss Banco de Gaia reflects that “Although I loved the sound palette of the original, it took me a while to find a way into the remix . Once I found the first step though, it all flowed smoothly and was a very satisfying process.”
